Q. Can I submit multiple entries for the Awards?
A. Yes, but there is a limit of 2 entries per size per category per region.

Q. Does anyone have to pay to enter?
A. No, entry is free.

Q. Can both contract cleaning companies or in-house teams enter?
A. No, only contract cleaning companies may enter.

Q. My company is very small, can I still enter?
A. Yes, it is not the size of the business that is important but the quality of the service provided.

Q. What are the main criteria for the judges?
A. General site impression, c leaning staff, consistency of quality of cleaning, communication, procedures & controls, staff management, training and client relationship are the main criteria which will be assessed.

Q. When is the closing date for entries?
A. Midnight Friday 01 July 2011.

Q. Do I have to be a customer of KIMBERLY-CLARK PROFESSIONAL* or registered with any trade associations to enter?
A. No.

Q. What if the building I am entering is not a place of work?
A. It cannot be entered.  Only business premises are eligible.

Q. How does the judging process work?
A. At the first stage, the judging panel will consider the application on the basis of written evidence submitted.  Short listed applicants will then be selected for a site visit.

Q. How will I know if I am short-listed as a finalist?
A. A member of the judging panel will contact you to arrange a site visit.

Q. When do site visits take place?
A. In July and August 2011.

Q. Do my nominated cleaner and/or site supervisor have to be present during a site visit?
A. Yes.  If not, your entry will be disqualified.

Q. When will I find out if I have won?
A. Winners will be announced at the 2011 Golden Service Awards ceremony on Thursday 20th October 2011.

Q. Will I be informed if my application has been unsuccessful?
A. No.  Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony and if you are unable to attend, a list will be printed in the November/December issue of African Cleaning Review magazine.

Q. What are the categories for the Golden Service Awards 2011?
A. Please note that you can nominate someone for the KIMBERLY-CLARK PROFESSIONAL* Supervisor of the Year - for excellent performance by a site supervisor - or Team Leader of the Year - for excellent performance by a team leader - or Site Manager of the Year - for excellent performance by a site manager - Awards once you have applied for any of the categories below. The site supervisor or team leader who you nominate must work at the premises you are entering.

1. Industrial Category (factory offices, factories, processing plants, power generation stations)
2. Retail Category (supermarkets, department stores, shopping malls)
3. Commercial Offices Category (public and private sector office buildings)
4. Education Category(schools, colleges, universities)
