Contract cleaning is all about satisfying your client with the quality and level of cleaning your cleaning staff provides on a daily and continuous basis.  Your client may be from a hospitality, education, healthcare, commercial, industrial or even retail industry – the fact remains that these are places of work and require a certain level of cleanliness due to the fact that they are inhibited by people during the day for a minimum of 8 hours on any given day.

If your company provides cleaning services to the industries mentioned above then, you HAVE to enter the 2011 Golden Service Awards competition before the 1st July 2011! Performance that meets and exceeds expectations need to be rewarded.....

Why the Awards?
The Golden Service Awards aim to recognise outstanding service and excellence in the cleaning service industry. Winning a Golden Service Award will not only raise your company’s profile as a cleaning specialist, it will also help raise and set the standards in the South African cleaning industry.

Who can enter?
All contract cleaning companies operating within the 9 regions in South Africa. Nominated sites must fall within these geographic regions.

How do I enter?
Entry can be online – complete the online entry from on our website, www.goldenserviceawards.co.za , or by downloading an entry form which can then be mailed back to, The Awards administrator, P O Box 829, Parklands, 2121 or faxed back to (011) 804 4698 after completion.

What are the categories?
There are 6 categories in total and each category has 4 contractor sizes:

 

  1. Industrial (factory offices, factories, processing plants, power generation stations)
  2. Commercial offices (public and private sector office buildings)
  3. Education (schools, colleges, universities)
  4. Health Care (hospitals, clinics, care establishments)
  5. Retail (supermarkets, department stores, shopping malls)
  6. Hospitality/Leisure(hotels, restaurants, catering, sports grounds and public transport)

The contractor sizes are Micro (1-5 employees), Small (6-20 employees), Medium (21-50 employees) and Large (51+ employees)

Awards judging criteria
Nominated sites undergo a thorough assessment during the judging process with regards to the following;
General site impression – cleanliness
Client interview
Consistency of quality of cleaning
Contractor staff appearance & attitude
Communication
Procedures, documentation as well as occupational health and safety controls
Staff management
Training and client relationship

How will entrants be judged?
All entries will be assessed based on the terms & conditions of the competition. Short-listed cleaning contractors will be contacted for appointment setting so that the nominated sites can be visited by the judges for a site inspection.
